Northshire Skating Academy
Our Northshire Skating Academy program is designed to bring new kids, teenagers and adults who have never skated before and teach them to skate proficiently at a recreational level. Our model is designed to take beginners and move them through different levels until they are competent skates.
We have two different days for Northshire Skating Academy’s Recreational Skating program, Wednesday afternoons and Sunday mornings. There are two different teaching sessions, one is the fall session that runs from October to the end of December, and the other is the winter session, which starts in January and goes until the last week in February.
These sessions will be roughly an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half. Your skater will have roughly 30 minutes of instruction and then the rest of the time they can free skate. Your skaters family is also welcome to free skate during that time!

Ages
Northshire Skating Academy is for skaters age 3-Adult.
Equipment
Skaters under 18 are required to wear a helmet each session. Adult Skaters are encouraged to wear a helmet whenever on the ice.
Skate rentals are included in the cost of the program.

Sunday Winter Session 2027
Develop your skating ability at Riley Rink this season. Whether your a beginner or a veteran that wants to improve, there will be a class for you. Northshire Skating Academy is open for ages 3 to Adult. The Sunday Winter Season will run 1/3/27 and conclude 2/28/26. Lessons will be between 9:00-10:30 AM each Sunday.

Develop your skating ability at Riley Rink this season. Whether your a beginner or a veteran that wants to improve, there will be a class for you. Northshire Skating Academy is open for ages 3 to Adult. The Wednesday Fall Season will run 10/7/26 and conclude 12/16/26. Lessons will be between 3:30-5:00 PM each Wednesday.
