The Northshire Civic Center is home to a wide range of hockey opportunities for all ages and skill levels. Adults can join in on competitive fun through our organized leagues or enjoy a more casual experience with pickup hockey sessions. For younger players, we offer engaging intro programs designed to teach the fundamentals of skating and hockey in a supportive environment, as well as seasonal camps that help kids build skills and confidence on the ice. Whether you’re lacing up for the first time or looking to stay active in the game you love, Northshire Civic Center has a hockey program for you.

Adult Pickup Hockey
Youth Intro to Hockey 2025
Youth Intro to Hockey is a FREE program for kids age 9-14. This program begins on October 8th and will run until November 19th, 2025. Practices will be on Wednesdays from 5:15-6:15PM.
In Youth Intro to Hockey, we will help your first-time/beginner hockey player to get better at skating, learn how to stick handle and shoot the puck, and develop a love for the game. Once this program ends on November 19th, intro players are highly encouraged to sign up for Youth House Hockey on Sunday mornings at 7:45 AM. House Hockey will help the beginner hockey player develop game sense so that they can enjoy the sport at a slightly more competitive level.
Adult Intro to Hockey
Are you interested in learning to play hockey, but think you might be too old? You're not! Northshire Civic Center offers an adult intro to hockey program that will help you learn proper skating and stick-handling techniques so that you can start a lifelong hobby! Sign up for this 7-week program that is held on Wednesday nights at 6:15.
This program begins on October 8th and ends on November 19th.
A/B Pickup Hockey
Join us for Sunday night pickup hockey at Riley Rink! Games will start Sunday, October 12th at 8:15 PM, then continue weekly on Sundays at 8:15 - 9:30 PM. We’ve got 18 weeks of A/B Pickup hockey lined up this year.

RegisterB/C Pickup Hockey
Lace up and join us for Wednesday night pickup hockey at Riley Rink! Games will start Wednesday, October 8th at 7:30 PM, then continue weekly at 7:30 PM. We’ve got 18 weeks of hockey lined up, giving you plenty of chances to hit the ice, get a great skate in, and have some fun with friends.
Please note: after Thanksgiving, some weeks may be shifted or cancelled to accommodate BBA high school games—so keep an eye on the schedule.

RegisterStifel Over 50 Pickup
New in the 2025-26 ice season, Riley Rink will be introducing an over 50 pickup hockey session on Tuesday mornings from 7AM-8AM. This pickup session is sponsored by Stifel Financial Services. Get over to the rink before you start your workday and get a quick skate in with Riley Rink's veteran hockey crowd.

RegisterYouth House Hockey 2025-2026
Youth House Hockey is a continuation of the Youth Intro to Hockey program for kids age 9-14. This program begins on November 30, 2025 and will run until March 1st, 2026. Scrimmages will be on Sundays from 7:45-8:45 AM.
RegisterRusty Blades Women's Hockey
Rusty Blades is a women’s pickup style hockey program on Monday nights at 7:15 PM on Mondays beginning October 6th, 2025 and will then shift to Mondays at 8:45 PM after Thanksgiving.
RegisterSilver Blades 2025-2026
Silver Blades is a coed adult hockey program. If you've completed Adult Intro to Hockey at Riley Rink or are able to skate and play hockey at a beginner level, this is the program for you. Silver Blades will be a mix of practice and game situations for adult beginner hockey players to get ready for the next level of hockey. Silver blades will be at 8:45 PM on Tuesdays beginning October 7th, 2025.
