Our winter season is one of the busiest here at Northshire Civic Center. Whether you're looking to play hockey, come to public skating, or looking to sign you or your skater up for our Learn to Skate programs, we have a lot to offer.

Youth Hockey
Northshire Hockey Association
Northshire Hockey Association (NHA) is the official youth hockey program in Manchester and in Bennington County. NHA has a team for almost every level, from kids who are 4 years old to 18 NHA has a place for them to play.

Youth Introductory Hockey
Riley Rink and Northshire Hockey Association have partnered once again with a few great local businesses to offer the Youth Hockey Introductory Program for ages 9-14 at no cost!
This program is designed to introduce kids within our community to one of the most exciting sports. These players will learn the very basics of skating, stick handling, passing and shooting. The goal of this program is to attract new players who will eventually join their age specific hockey teams or play in house hockey for Northshire Hockey.
This program will practice once a week for an hour each time. Practices will start on October 17th and will be on Tuesdays at 6:15-7:15 pm. Eventually the practice schedule will change, and we will send out more information when it’s time.
**New in 2023** We will be adding a house league hockey opportunity at 5:00-6:00 on Fridays so that players can begin to develop a game sense.
Rental gear is available ($35/season).
Adult Hockey
C- League Hockey
C- League is offering a great opportunity for players who enjoy the game of hockey in a less competitive atmosphere or are just beginning to learn the game. This league is open to anyone who is considered a low B or C level player. If you are new to the league we will help place you on a team in need.
Games are played on Sunday evenings at 3:45 PM, 5:15 PM , and 6:45 PM
Tuesday Night Hockey
Tuesday Night Hockey Club (formerly known as Monday Night Hockey) is offering a great opportunity for players who enjoy the competitive game of hockey in a pick up game atmosphere. This is a fast paced pick up game and meant for players at an A or B level.
Games are played on Tuesday evenings at 8:45 pm starting on October 17th. Only 25 players belong to these pick up nights, so register to lock in your spot!
Main Street Hockey Club
Main Street Hockey Club is a co-ed hockey organization in Manchester Center, Vermont. With players ranging in skill from A-C, we offer a little excitement and a lot of fun that will help take your mind off of the cold winter months in the Green Mountain State.
Main Street will have 2-4 teams based on registered numbers. Every player who registers will be placed on a team. Games are competitive (no checking) and are sanctioned by USA Hockey.

Silver Blades
Silver Blades hockey is for women who are tired of only skiing and want a night to hang out with their friends!
With players ranging in skill from beginner who can barely skate to beginners who can skate a little, this program offers a little excitement and a lot of fun and laughter that will help take your mind off of the cold winter months in the Green Mountain State.

Adult Introductory Hockey
Adult Beginner Hockey is designed for people who want to get out during the LONG Vermont winters and learn something new. We will work at a basic level and focus on skating, stick handling, passing, and shooting.
We will have fun, and our goal is to have a smile on your face when you're done!
The season begins October 18th and ends November 15th on Wednesday at 6:30 pm. .

Rusty Blades
The Rusty Blades is the official women's hockey league in Manchester. Run by a separate group the Rusty Blades have been a fan favorite. This group is for women who know who to play hockey.

Wednesday Night Pick Up
Wednesday Night pickup will be a B/C level adult pickup session. Sign up for the whole season (18 weeks) for $175 or pay $15/night for drop in play. Pickup will start on October 18th at 7:45 PM.
Games will be played on Wednesday evenings, usually around 8 pm (High School Games may prevent a consistent start time).
Cost is $175 per player. Goalies are free and should reach out to Joe to get on the list.
