Riley Vogel has been ice skating since 2010, when he started taking lessons at Riley Rink through the Northshire Figure Skating Club's Learn to Skate Program(now called Northshire Skating Academy). Realizing how much he loved the sport, his instructor at the time(who later became his coach) suggested he try a simple routine at a near by competition, and so his skating career began. He currently skates in the Ice Skating Institutes(ISI) dicipline programs at Free Style 5. He is working on his double salchow jump. Recently he competed in Lake Placid, NY earning a gold metal for his freestyle performance. Riley is currently a freshman at BBA and is active in the school's drama department. He also enjoys listening to music, and playing the flute.
The Northshire Figure Skating Club(NFSC) has freestyle ice every Monday afternoon 4:430m - 5:30pm (full Olympic ice surface) for a $10.00 walk on fee. Every student in our Learn to Skate-USA program is encouraged to utilize the practice ice time. Calling before coming is recommended as occasionally there's a schedule change. No minimum level requirements to attend. During holiday times please check back for changes in scheduling.
